We are inviting you and 400+ participants from around the world to the UOttawa Designathon. This year the Designathon is going to be entirely virtual and take place from February 12th to 14th! All University students are welcome.

Get ready to pull out your mystery cracking hat as MESS has teamed up with "Looking Glass Adventures" to bring to you a virtual escape room competition. Gather all your pals for a night of fun in mystery while you try to solve the Mystery at Maryweather Mansion. Attempt to solve it as fast as you can, to win a prize and the title of the most distinguished Fastest Mec Eng Escape Room Team (title/bragging rights > prize). 
Make sure to fill out the form below and sign up as quickly as possible as spots are limited. The event is fully paid for by MESS!

The 2020 MESS Elections consists of the First Year Representative and VP Academic Affairs.

The First Year Representative is responsible for representing the interests of all first-year mechanical engineering and biomedical mechanical engineering students. He/she will act as the student liaison between the students and the society while raising awareness of MESS amongst the first-year students.

The VP Academic Affairs is responsible for creating and running academic, networking, and hiring events for the members, as well as communicating academic issues to the faculty on behalf of the members. Further, he/she is responsible for creating budget proposals for each event prior to the event in question.

Please select one option from each category, you may select a candidate, select abstain or select no confidence. Abstain is equivalent to leaving the choice blank. No confidence is stating you do not believe any candidate is fit to hold the position. Should the number of no confidence votes be higher than the the vote count for the candidate with most votes for that position, no one will be elected and a bi-election will be held.

  • Are you interested in big fancy Zoom academic events? Connecting with students, industry professionals, and professors? Even run some study sessions? If you said yes to any of the above make sure to apply for the MESS VP Academic position!

• First Year Representative

  • This is your chance to get involved with MESS as our first year representative!  We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who will bring fresh ideas to the team and promote MESS to first year students.  

The Mechanical Engineering Students Society are hosting our annual elections for the next academic year! Applications will be accepted until 11:59pm on March 13. Please include your full name, student number, uOttawa email and platform (maximum 250 words) in your submission to mess.uottawa@gmail.com

The voting period will be March 20-24.
